Alicia Edquist earned her Masters of Arts degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida in 2013 and her Bachelors of Science in Christian Ministry from Hope International University in Fullerton, California in 2011. She currently works full time as a classified employee in the Mass Communications Department at Cerritos College as an Instructional Lab Technician I. She has been an instructor at Cerritos College for the last 7 years and has taught the following courses as an adjunct faculty member: Intro to Broadcasting, Beginning Newswriting, Mass Media & Society and Multimedia Reporting.

She was Editor in Chief for the Talon Marks in Spring 2003, as well as serving as Wings Magazine Editor, and Online Editor while at Cerritos College. She is a graduate of Cerritos College Journalism program in Spring 2005.

She served as the Communications Director for the Journalism Association of Community Colleges for 3 years.

In Fall 2004, she was selected to attend “Saturdays at the Los Angeles Times” program and was 1 of 40 college students selected to attend the program. She received the Rich Cameron Volunteer of the Year Award in 2016 from the Journalism Association of Community Colleges.
